BRUCE BROOKS – Vice-Moderator / Lay Delegate
My spouse and I have been attending New Light for about 15 years. I have been New Light’s Lay Delegate and attended the last 3 General Conferences in that role. I also completed the L.E.A.D. program offered through MCC. That training has been a great benefit to me personally and as a member of NL’s Board of Directors. New Light and MCC has been a place of spiritual growth for me and Charlie. We are blessed to call it our church home.
HAROLD GRESS – Treasurer
I’ve attended New Light since the church was formed in 1996, except for a brief hiatus, and have been a member since 2000. I’ve served on the Board of Directors as Secretary, Secretary/Treasurer, and am currently the Treasurer. I enjoy the family atmosphere at New Light and can’t imagine worshipping anywhere else. When I suddenly lost my first partner in 2009, the church was a great support – I don’t know how I would have made it through that period without my church family. I’ve attended several UFMCC Network gatherings and the General Conference in 2010 in Acapulco. I live an hour away from Hagerstown in Pennsylvania on my family farm with my current partner and two dogs. My partner’s 8 year old son visits us every weekend. 2015 was a year of personal transition – after losing my job of 20 years, I recently started a new position at Chambersburg Hospital as a Financial Systems Analyst. I look forward to the next chapter in New Light’s journey.
TERRY SCHILDT – Facilities Manager
I have been a member of New Light for the past 11 years and a member of the Board for 10 of those years. I am a Washington County native. Before beginning my career as a communications technician and building technician with AT&T, I attended Findlay University in Ohio. I lived in the DC metro area for 22 years. After retiring from AT&T, I started a home inspection business for real estate sales. I have been active in the trade union and GLBT/AIDS activist movements. Currently, I serve as the Board of Directors Building Manager.
DAVID WASHINGTON – Secretary

DAVID BRECHBIEL – Office Administrator
David started working as our office administrator in 2012. Having a 26 year background in the typesetting and printing industry and having a certificate in office procedures, David decided to share his talents with us to advance our mission. He brings his creativity, sense of humor, and flexibility to the position. Besides preparing the bulletins each week, David covers various office duties and makes sure the church is maintained during the week. David volunteers as a Worship Leader, is on the Outreach Team and was a member of the Stewardship Team prior to that.
Board Meetings are open to all who are interested.
