and the year to come!
The 2011 congregational meeting

The 2011 congregational meetingwill be held on December 4th immediately after worship.. The congregational report is available on the New Light website for you to download. (If you do not have access to a computer and would prefer a hard copy please give me a call and I will post one out to you).

There have been no enquiries about board positions this year, but Terry Schildt and Dan Stewart have both offered to run for another term. Since you know them both well, and are familiar with their work in the church, I have not requested additional application forms from them.

If you would like an item to be considered for inclusion in this year's agenda please call me as soon as you can. You will be invited to present your item at the December 2nd Board Meeting, and if accepted by the board your item will be included as an addendum to the agenda on December 4th.

The church has gone through a few changes over the year. I believe that the church has grown, not just numerically, but in the depth of its faith. I also believe that this depth is what is required as we grow and change. It is the work of God in our midst, and I am very proud to be a witness to it.

I pray that you'll take time out to read the congregational report. It's a marvelous window into the year that's gone, a testament to the work of everyone in the church. It also provides a window to the future, an indicator of the direction we are moving in. It's very exciting!

Looking forward to seeing you on December 4th.

Much Love

Rev. Michael

Greetings From Rev. Elder Darlene Garner

People in the United States are preparing to celebrate a holiday called Thanksgiving that will be observed on Thursday of next week. It is a time when families and friends often travel great distances to come together as an expression of their gratitude and love for one another. In the same spirit of Thanksgiving, I extend to each of you my love and gratitude. No matter how you will be spending your time next Thursday, I invite you to join your heart and intentions with mine in this prayer that calls us into a season of grateful service.

Please Pray With Me.....

Sar-Shalom, Your dominion promises abundance and mutual caring for all. Turn us away from indifference to the inequalities that grant us the advantages we enjoy so that we may see and serve those who are hungry, thirsty, ill clothed, sick, persecuted or marginalized. We seek to be faithful to your call of love, that together we might experience your dominion here and now.

May we take this opportunity to be generous with all that we have and all that we are and become the tangible eyes, ears, hands, heart and feet of God in the world. May we be compelled to share the good news, offer healing to the injured, support to the weak, secure  justice for marginalized and offer hope to those feeling lost and alone.

Today, we renew our pledge to offer ourselves and our resources toward the realization of the eternal purpose for all of humanity. May we, as your people, become more and more a source of hope and healing in your world.  Amen.

May God bless you and yours with plenty this Thanksgiving day.
