Stewards For Christ, Step One Time....What a concept. Is there ever enough to go around? When you finally have some, would you even know what to do with it? This is a topic I can intimately write about. I don't know about you but I've certainly wasted my fair share. I've made promises to meet deadlines and when time has run out, I have done everything else but what I was supposed to do. Do you ever feel that way? Feel as if your heart gives you all these wonderful ideas and scenarios and your brain and body do nothing with them? At the end of the day, you or whomever you made these promises to are left "empty handed" and a little less happier. This is a common epidemic amongst human beings. We, as human beings and those whom have turned their life over to a higher power to become children of God, are by our very nature FLAWED. Let me repeat that in another way. We make mistakes. We fall down. We are flawed and God STILL loves us. Jesus STILL wants to walk by our side and live in our hearts. Julie Ferron So what can we do to use our time wisely? Dedicate it to God. God not only encourages us to tithe our earnings, I feel that He wants us to tithe our time as well. How do we tithe our time? Choosing to take even 5 minutes out of your day, everyday to help someone can make a big difference. We see examples of people helping people in our own church. Julie Ferron has been a friend of New Light MCC for a long time and enjoys taking on any and all tasks that the church asks of her. Julie has made it a personal mission of hers to be helpful in the church office as an assistant and sound engineer during our morning worship. She shares her talent as a Soprano in the Choir and has helped her fellow man and woman on the Prayer Team, Food Pantry and Steering Commitee. In order to put her skills to good use, Julie has become an Interfaith Representative for New Light. As a representative, she works with other churches in the community to bring others closer to God's love and tolerance. When asked about her future plans for being a good steward in the church she replied, "I'm here to support MCC whenever New Light requests or needs me." Here were many ways to contribute your time at church (here are some more). Whether it be big or small. Long or short. The deeds we do and the time we spend matter to all of us. One small gesture can change the world and put a smile on someone's face :) Recent Posts
